The Lake Louise Ski Area Events Lineup

This year's winter events lineup has something for everyone!

Whether you’re an event spectator or participant, you're guaranteed to have a great time in one of the most beautiful, exciting and family friendly places on earth!  Come out and take part in the festivities this winter.

*Event participants/competitors can register online here on skilouise.com prior to individual event days (usually 3-4 weeks before the event). Click on a event below for full details:

WinterStart World Cup Downhill and Super G- Women's

November 30 to December 2

Lake Louise hosts the world’s finest female Alpine skiers as they race for a spot on the podium. Friday the 30th and Saturday the 1st sees the women compete in the downhill races and then on Sunday witness them take part in the Ladies Super-G.

The entertainment doesn’t stop with the races! During the World Cup Weekend kids ski free with the purchase of an adult pass. The festival area, located at the base of the mountain, will be packed with activities for the whole family. 

Try some delicious samples from Saputo, visit the Parks Canada Mountain Wit display and warm up by the fire pit, take in the magnificence of the ice sculpture from Frozen Memories, visit the giant beaver from Parks Canada, and complete a questionnaire for your chance to receive a pre-loaded Husky Rewards Card.

You will also be able to view the finish area and cheer on the World Cup athletes as they cross the finish line! Entry into the Base Area and Finish Area is FREE!

Kids Ski Free During World Cup!

Kids Ski Free During Winterstart World Cup!

Also exciting for families, children will ski free during the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup. Get two FREE Child Lift tickets with the purchase of an Adult Lift Ticket by saying the cheer “Go Canada Go” at the ticket counter. This fantastic offer is for children up to 12 years of age, and is valid during the Men’s World Cup on November 24 & 25 and the Women’s World Cup on November 30, December 1 & 2, 2012.

Banff Santa Claus Parade

December 1

Watch the magic and glow of the Santa Claus Parade of Lights amidst the exciting spectators on Banff Avenue or over a glass of hot chocolate from the comfort of a street-front restaurant. At this thrilling cornerstone event, catch a candy cane or prize thrown to the crowd by Santa's elves, and look out for the jolly man himself leading a string of festive floats past wide-eyed children.

Heavy Metal Rail Jam

December 16

Heavy Metal Rail Jam 2012Skiers and snowboarders! It’s time to pull your gear out of storage and trade in pavement for snow. Claim your piece of  $2000 cash and product prizing.

The event is in jam format to give you plenty of time to stomp out your tricks. The course will be made up of a combination of rails and boxes, 3 features total.

Registration costs $25. Online registration is now closed; however, you can still register on event day between 8:30am and 10:00am in the Sitzmark Lounge!

Community Day

December 16

We would like to give a big thanks to Bow Valley locals by offering $30 full-day lift tickets!  Residents of Exshaw, Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, and Field are eligible to receive the discounted rate. Profits will go to support the local community, allocation to be confirmed.

Lift ticket rates are as follows

Adult- $30

Youth- $20

Child- $10

In order to receive the discount proof of residency in the local area must be provided.
