Cruise for fourteen minutes, in an open chair or a fully enclosed gondola, to one of the Banff National Park's greatest views! From the top, at 2088m (6850ft), the spectacular scenery is yours to explore.  There are ambitious hikes to the summit of Mt. Whitehorn for the hardy, or equally lovely short, leisurely strolls for those with more modest exercise goals. You can also sign up for a 45 minute guided walk at the interpretive center.

Hike to the Lake Agnes Tea House with our certified Heritage Guides and meet Casey Anderson at the top for an early lunch. One of the most hiked trails in the Canadian Rockies, this destination has it all: an enjoyable trail, stunning views, and a historic teahouse for relaxing and refueling before the descent.
Participate in Casey's presentation, Bear With Me, where Casey discusses his unique relationship with Brutus and offers insight into grizzly bears and wild animals, in general.

Weekend Itinerary - 3 days, 2 nights

Friday, September 21 - Arrive in Lake Louise:
Travel to Calgary, Alberta, Canada (transportation on own) and enjoy a scenic two-hour drive to The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise through the Rocky Mountains. All activities will originate from the hotel. Start your adventure with an evening welcome reception and meet Casey Anderson.

Saturday, September 22 - Hike and Learn:
Feast on a hearty breakfast buffet before a four-hour guided hike with our certified Heritage Guides to the Lake Agnes Tea House. Meet Casey there for lunch before returning to The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise to relax and explore at your own pace. Join Casey for his "Bear With Me" presentation, and then enjoy a sumptuous dinner created by our talented culinary team.

Sunday, September 23 - Discover Lake Louise and Head Home:
The morning is yours to discover; linger over our buffet breakfast, paddle a canoe on Lake Louise and visit the Lake Louise Ski Hill and (hopefully) spot a Grizzly from the Grizzly Gondola. Check-out of the hotel and take the 1A highway back through Banff National Park to spot more wildlife before returning to Calgary.

Lake Louise Fall Photography Courses with Mark Unrau

Brief Description:

Lake Louise Photo Course

What better place to learn about photography than one of the most scenic locations in the Rocky Mountains! The Lake Louise Sightseeing Gondola as part of the Lake Louise Fall Festival will be offering a photo course taught by local photographer Mark Unrau. This two hour course will be offered Saturday the 22nd and Saturday the 29th of September.  Mark will be covering both exposure and composition including components inside and outside the classroom.

Sessions are to be conducted at the top of the sightseeing gondola at Whitehorn lodge.  Please allow for at least 30 minutes after arriving at the base area to ride the lift and walk to Whitehorn lodge.

The cost to participate in a session is only $30 for two hours of instruction.  This also includes the price of your Gondola Ticket. On the day of the course, your gondola ticket will be available for pickup at Guest Services in the Lodge of Ten Peaks.

Add a breakfast buffet to your registration for just $2 or a lunch buffet for only $6! Breakfast is from 8:30am to 11:00am and lunch from 11:30am to 2:30pm. This special meal offer is only available to those registered in a photography session.

Gondola, Glaciers, & Grizzlies

September 1 - 30

Brief Description:

Cruise for fourteen minutes, in an open chair or a fully enclosed gondola, to one of the Banff National Park's greatest views! From the top, at 2088m (6850ft), the spectacular scenery is yours to explore.  There are ambitious hikes to the summit of Mt. Whitehorn for the hardy, or equally lovely short, leisurely strolls for those with more modest exercise goals. You can also sign up for a 45 minute guided walk at the interpretive center.

Lake Louise Fall Photography Courses with Mark Unrau

Brief Description:

Lake Louise Photo Course

What better place to learn about photography than one of the most scenic locations in the Rocky Mountains! The Lake Louise Sightseeing Gondola as part of the Lake Louise Fall Festival will be offering a photo course taught by local photographer Mark Unrau. This two hour course will be offered Saturday the 22nd and Saturday the 29th of September.  Mark will be covering both exposure and composition including components inside and outside the classroom.

Sessions are to be conducted at the top of the sightseeing gondola at Whitehorn lodge.  Please allow for at least 30 minutes after arriving at the base area to ride the lift and walk to Whitehorn lodge.

The cost to participate in a session is only $30 for two hours of instruction.  This also includes the price of your Gondola Ticket. On the day of the course, your gondola ticket will be available for pickup at Guest Services in the Lodge of Ten Peaks.

Add a breakfast buffet to your registration for just $2 or a lunch buffet for only $6! Breakfast is from 8:30am to 11:00am and lunch from 11:30am to 2:30pm. This special meal offer is only available to those registered in a photography session.
